Jack uncovers a plot for a second Rüstov invasion (Rüstovs are aliens that can take over humans and machines and want to control the whole world). He realizes he has to tell his friends about his connection to Revile and hope that they still trust him and help him stop the invasion. If that wasn't enough trouble, one of the Imagine Nation's Secreteers (the Secreteers are agents in charge of keeping all of the Imagine Nation's secrets) got infected with the Rüstov virus and is giving away all of the secrets of The Imagine Nation, including Jack's! Can Jack and his friends stop the invasion and save The Imagine Nation?

The Secret War starts off a year later from where The Accidental Hero left off. I really liked The Accidental Hero and The Secret War was EVEN BETTER! The Imagine Nation is an amazing place and Mr. Myklusch's description of it really gives you an idea of what it looks like and what it's like to live in it. There is a lot that goes on in the plot of the book but it's easy to follow and the story really keeps you interested. There were cool new characters introduced in this book like Lorem Ipsum and Trea and of course favorite characters from the first book coming back like Skerren and Stendeval. This action-packed book is just fun to read! I can't wait for the third book!

Fantastic story telling, thrilling ending, gotta say I loved it! This is how you keep your audience on the edge of their seats and Myklusch nailed it!
This book is very similar in quality to the first. The writing is basic, but generally clear and simple. For an advanced reader, it is easily finished in a couple of days. The only really well-drawn character is Jack Blank while the rest mostly fade into the background. The world is interesting in an afternoon-cartoon sort of way. This series tries to do everything and cram in every "Cooooool" idea, and while it sometimes succeeds it mostly feels really unfocused.

It is fine for Middle-school aged kids who are interested in the whole array of nerdy things and a straightforward coming of age story, but honestly it doesn't have the depth of character or world-building as something like Harry Potter.
This book started slow and, even worse, had Jack acting so foolishly that I didn't even understand let alone like him. Halfway through it picked up and he changed but I almost quit the book. I'm glad I didn't. But I probably won't read the next book in the series.
The second book had some cool points, but it felt sort of depressing. So many people that you care about hate the main character or distrust him at the very least. Just got too blah, but I do like the overall story board. I Just wish that the author wouldn't paint the entire second book so bleak. I had to make myself finish it so I could see how it all ends. I don't even know why everyone is mad at Jack for the most part.
An excellent continuation of the first book which portrays all the qualities of a good book. With surprises and unexpected turnouts at every filp of the page, it's no wonder that I find it hard to stop rading the book once I've started. The book also gives an excellent ending which sparks interest and curiosity for the next book of the series.
This book is another excellent adventure for Jack Blank and wraps up the series nicely. Books for boys are harder to find and these are perfect. The story keeps him reading and its good enough that it can keep the attention of a parent as well. I generally read my sons books before he does to make sure they aren't inappropriate or tackling situations he isn't ready for. I highly recommend this series for anyone who has a reluctant reader because the story will draw him in. This is also a great book series for comic lovers.

The Secret War is the second book in the series.
The story is about super heroes and super villains and a world you never knew existed! Jack Blank is a kid who belongs to this world but didn't grow up in it. Jack Blank makes a lot of mistakes once he gets to the Imagine Nation (where they live) but with the help of his friends they manage to save the world a couple of times. Currently, we are reading the third and last book and are excited to learn how it ends but sad also. Totally recommend for any age!
