There is so much more to this story than just a romance. It has everything you need for an amazing book. There is fear, danger, desire, passion, heart ache and unconditional love. I couldn't read it fast enough, I had to get to the end. I cried, I laughed, I was holding my breath and sat on the edge of my chair. Sometimes it was devastatingly emotional. This is a fast-paced exciting read. All my favorite characters are present in this story and that makes this book very special for me. I was completely absorbed in this story of Carrie and Dej and loved every minute of this roller coaster. I would definitely recommend this book and I can't wait for the next installment.Product details

I couldn't put this one down! I even read while walking through the house from room to room! Sarah has such a great storytelling talent. I'm ready to read the next installment of Dej & Carrie's life together!
While the story was tough to read as far as Dej, it was good to see Dej and Carrie's relationship moving forward. I always enjoy reading about all the members of the family. I can't wait to see what the next book goes.
I liked this first book in the Carrie and Dej series. I didn't love it. I did take into mind some of the reviews warning of the violence against women in the book. I have mixed feelings about the violence visited upon Dej. I agree the strong family presence sends a positive message. I will continue to follow this series.
As a newly minted couple, Dej and Carrie ‘s vows are put to the test. Written in frightening detail, Ms. Markel’s strong willed Dej, struggles to survive the abduction, trial and emotional fallout of being the object of ignorance and hate. Both main characters, stand strong as well rounded, flawed, but resilient young women. Ms. Markel’s ability to capture the emotional turmoil driving the stories villain, as well as his victim and her family rings eerily true. This book will have your gut in a knot right up to the very end, bringing a visceral experience to the read. By the time all was resolved and lives were continuing on, I felt I’d been chained to the pages, so strong was my need to finish it. While, I didn’t read this book in one sitting, I only managed to put it down for about 5 hours of sleep.
This book was great. Nice lead into the Carrie and Dej storyline. I can't wait to see where this story will go.
